Whether it’s lunch at the office, a midnight snack, or a hangover breakfast, delivery services have long been a part of our daily lives. What’s often overlooked, however, is the mountain of waste that results from every order. Trays, cups, and cutlery are usually used for only a few minutes before being thrown away.

reCIRCLE and Uber Eats collaboration

With the integration of reCIRCLE as a packaging option on Uber Eats, reusable packaging is now visible and easily selectable directly within the ordering process for the first time. reCIRCLE partners now have the option on Uber Eats to include the packaging option in the ordering process, so that customers must choose between reCIRCLE reusable packaging with a deposit and single-use packaging. This allows customers to enjoy every order completely waste-free. After the meal, the reCIRCLE BOX can be returned as usual to any reCIRCLE partner in the network. The deposit paid will be fully refunded.

reCIRCLE as Default Packaging Option

Anyone who has read the blog post “The Psychology Behind Reuse: Why We Find It Difficult to Act Sustainably” knows that people usually opt for the easiest option and therefore tend to stick with default settings. That’s why reCIRCLE partner businesses have the option to select reCIRCLE reusable packaging as the default setting, thereby creating an additional barrier to single-use packaging.
